After spending the first 11 seasons of her career in Phoenix, Griner joined the Dream for the 2025 campaign and had one of the worst statistical performances of her professional tenure. She started in just 25 of 39 regular-season appearances, averaging 9.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 20.8 minutes per game, all of which were the lowest marks of her career. Some regression seemed likely since the Dream also acquired Brionna Jones ahead of the 2025 campaign, but she had a limited role in the rotation down the stretch, including single-digit minutes in two of her three playoff appearances. Griner will be an unrestricted free agent during the offseason, and if she chooses to continue her career, it wouldn't be surprising to see her seek out other opportunities ahead of her age-35 season.

Griner tied for the team high in field-goal attempts and paced the team in points during the victory. It was just her second time playing more than 18 minutes since returning from a three-game absence Aug. 10. Griner's impact extended to the defensive end, swatting a season-high four shots. She'll look to continue to provide a spark off the bench in the playoffs.

Griner had a muted impact on the offensive end and scored single-digit points for the third time in her last four appearances. The veteran center has appeared in seven straight outings off the bench following a three-game absence due to a neck injury, averaging 8.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 17.1 minutes per game during that span.

Griner continues to play off the bench, but this performance Tuesday was perhaps one of her best outings of the entire campaign. The veteran center recorded at least two tallies in each of the five major categories, and it wouldn't be surprising if she returns to the first unit when the Dream take on the Lynx on Thursday. She certainly turned a few heads with her play in this loss to Las Vegas.

Griner was hit in the face on a block attempt and exited to the locker room with 3:36 remaining in the third quarter due to a bloody nose. However, the veteran center returned shortly thereafter and should be good to go for the remainder of the game.
